How To Prepare For Scalp Micropigmentation

4 Days Before

Begin to moisturize twice a day, morning and night, using non-irritating fragrance-free lotion.

Don’t consume alcohol for at least 48 hours before the procedure. Alcohol is a blood thinner, making you bleed more.

Avoid medications, such as aspirin.

The Night Before

Wash and cut your hair.

Avoid blood thinners unless your Medical Doctor approves.

Avoid using topical products that contain alcohol.

Make sure you’re adequately hydrated to allow your skin to accept the ink better.

Exfoliate your scalp to remove any dead skin cells.

The Day Of Treatment

Don’t use any oily, waxy products on your head. The excess oil can prevent the pigment from retaining.

If you usually have a shaved head trim with clippers before your appointment.

Make sure you have a meal before the appointment. The first session is the longest and can last from 3-4 hours.

Scalp Micropigmentation AfterCare Guide

After each scalp micropigmentation session is over you will want to follow a few simple steps to ensure the pigments heal as optimally as possible.

We have compiled a list of the most important considerations after your treatment. The aim is to avoid disturbing your new pigment deposits, and of course you should do all you can to avoid any interference with the healing process.

Day 1-4

First of all, you should try to avoid any physical effort which might make you sweat.

(This includes cardio and heavy lifting)

When showering, keep the treated area on the head dry.

Day 5-6

At this point you can wash your head with luke warm water and soap. Avoid using shampoo with chemicals.

Now is also a good time to cut the hair on the side of your head if needed.

You can also moisture your head and you can perform activities from which you sweat lightly. Lift some weights at a low pace but avoid tough cardio sessions.

Day 7 Onwards

At this point, you can resume your showering normally. There won’t be any issues with the water or with the shampoo when you wash your scalp.

You can now get back to your usual routine and sweat as much as you’d like at the gym.

Day 30 (after all sessions are complete)

Fake tan, saunas and swimming pools are fine from here on.

If you live in a warm, sunny climate, take adequate precautions. A quality non-greasy sunscreen is best.

Moisturize daily with a light moisturizing cream.

Although not compulsory, I recommending taking measures to avoid head shine.
